Yeah, I know I promised… Sorry…

Yeah, I know I promised a non-medical, non-whiney post this week, and I’m sorry, but I will shut the fuck up after this one, I pinky promise!

I had a bad day on Thursday, feeling quite rough with an Irritable Bowel stomach. The smell of my son’s dinner suddenly had me belting for the bathroom. I won’t do into details. I had a tummy bug. I was rushing – and then crawling – to the loo every twenty minutes for the next 14 hours, never sure which end was gonna blow!

And the funny thing was, apart from the actual ‘toilet time’, I didn’t feel much worse than I do any other day; I had all the symptoms I’ve had since September – cold sweats, tiredness, dizziness, shakiness, low-grade headache, achey muscles, dodgy stomach – but just a little bit more pronounced, which makes me wonder: Is this viral?

Does this sound familiar to any other ME/ Chronic Fatigue sufferers?

  1. I have chronic fatigue and PCOS yes it is very familiar. The thing that helps me most is B12 injections and iron. I have however recently been looking at some information about Celiac’s disease because my son was diagnosed and honestly, it covers a TON of what I have felt my whole life.

I found the article linked below pretty interesting.

Sorry you are feeling icky. Hope you feel better soon!

    • Wow! Thank-you so much for commenting! I’ve just been referred to a CFS specialist, but the medical profession is so slow, I’m trying to fit the pieces together myself.
I’ll have a look at that article (and Google PCOS *blushes at her ignorance*).
Thanks again – hope you find an answer with the Celiacs!

      • Michele, that’s freaky – those celiac symptoms, I mean! Just remembered my GP tested for it, but she never got the results back. Didn’t think about it at the time, but I’ll check back with her. Boy! Is she gonna love seeing me again *eye-roll*

  2. Ugh, I’m sorry you felt like that! Like adding insult to injury! Maybe an infectious disease doctor could help you? I was in the hospital once for over a week before they knew what was wrong with me….I had all the signs of Lyme Disease, the flue, Rheumatoid Arthritis, but all tests came back negative. Finally, an infectious disease doctor came in and found out I had a strep infection of the blood! Um, yeah, I could have died.
I don’t think this is your case….the dying part at least. I’m going to email you something.

I SO wish you would get better. I need a tour guide when I come to the islands you know! Jeez………….jk!

    • Lol! It was the easiest tummy bug I ever had, just the worst ten months!!

Jesus!! You could have died!! This is why I freak, I think! So much is all down to luck – what if that infectious doctor had been on a coffee break? Or at home, ill himself? What if they’s just sent you home, clutching a prescription for aspirin??! *hyperventilating*

If I kick the bucket before you get here, I’ll still be with you in spirit – whooo-oooo! 😉

And get a second, third, 900th opinion.
    Only you know your body!
And last time I checked, damn doctors are our servants! Not the other way around!

  5. Ahhh Tiny! I’m sorry you felt so poorly last week. I suffer from IBS and had quite the flare up earlier this month myself. Take care and I hope those damn docs get off their asses and fix you instead of making you run around like a madwoman!
